Friedrich Merz criticizes CDU parliamentary group in Dresden

The CDU chairman Friedrich Merz has sharply criticized the approval of the CDU parliamentary group in the Dresden city council for an AfD proposal to introduce a payment card for asylum seekers. "The decision is correct in substance, but unacceptable in procedure," said Merz in Berlin on Friday. "That was a mistake. And we will discuss everything else with those affected." The CDU had always said that it would not agree to AfD motions in any parliament.
