The CDU in Saxony will elect a new state executive at a party conference on Saturday. According to the party, 200 delegates will gather at the Congress Center of the Leipzig Trade Fair from 10.00 am. The performance of the CDU state leader, Minister President Michael Kretschmer (50), is eagerly awaited. He has been at the helm of the Saxon CDU since 2017. In the previous election two years ago, he received around 89% of the vote. Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) is also expected to attend the party conference in Leipzig.
