The CDU in the state parliaments of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt wants to support young families buying their first house or apartment when they move in themselves. The ownership rate in the eastern German states is still relatively low, said Saxony's CDU parliamentary group leader Christian Hartmann after a joint closed meeting in Stolberg (Mansfeld-Südharz district). Young families should therefore be specifically supported by a reduction in ancillary costs, such as land transfer tax.
According to Hartmann, tax law changes are necessary for implementation in the federal states, which should be initiated at federal level. The aim is to strengthen long-term housing and living prospects in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, according to the resolution paper.
