The Free State of Saxony collected a good 9.8 billion euros in taxes in the first half of 2025. This is slightly more than in the same period last year with just over 9.5 billion, as the Ministry of Finance in Dresden announced in response to a dpa inquiry. The increase corresponds to 3.3 percent.
The Ministry of Finance did not wish to provide an assessment of the figures. A spokesperson explained that it was not yet possible to draw any reliable conclusions from the tax revenue at the middle of the year regarding the revenue at the end of the year, citing numerous individual and special effects on tax revenue and the settlement of the fiscal equalization scheme.
