Bestselling author Sabine Ebert (67) has taken fans of her "Midwife" saga to original locations in the silver city of Freiberg. The author was a surprise guest on a new literary tour of the town on Sunday.
Five-volume saga set in Freiberg
Ebert celebrated success with the historical novel "The Secret of the Midwife", published in 2006, and the four subsequent volumes. According to the publishing house, the books about the settlers' campaigns in the East and the first silver discoveries in the Erzgebirge sold millions of copies.
The author knows Freiberg inside out, having lived in the town in Central Saxony for a long time and worked as a journalist. After writing articles and non-fiction books about Freiberg's history, she became an author of historical novels. The 67-year-old now lives in Dresden.
