166 steps to the tenth floor: Hundreds competed for the best time at the Zwickau stair run. Particularly young and old runners also took part - many firefighters were even fully loaded.

Running up 166 steps to the top floor of a high-rise building with heavy equipment - and against the clock: around 160 runners took part in the 12th Zwickau high-rise stair run. Sixty firefighters also took on the challenge. They had to wear breathing masks and around 15 kilos of equipment, as one organizer said.

The participants had to conquer ten floors in the residential building. The youngest were six, the oldest participant 93 years old. Everyone who reached the top received a medal, and there were also certificates and prizes for the best runners in each age group. The best time for the stair run, which has been held annually since 2013, was set in 2015 at 38.7 seconds.
