In parts of Großschönau (district of Görlitz), the drinking water supply has been interrupted since the afternoon. From 3 p.m. until at least midnight, there was a complete failure in all streets above the railroad line, the fire department announced. The reason was initially unknown.
Fire brigade calls for supplies
Residents are urged to stock up on drinking water immediately and take precautionary measures. Anyone who is not at home should contact family members or neighbors to ensure a supply.
Großschönau is located not far from the border with the Czech Republic in the south of the district of Görlitz. The municipality has around 5,000 inhabitants.
