The video game Minecraft has captivated hundreds of millions of people worldwide and has even been adapted into a movie. Now, fans of the game—with its unique visual style—can immerse themselves in authentic locations in Freiberg. To this end, the Bergakademie has released a Minecraft-based online game titled “Countdown Freiberg.”

Here’s the premise: During a drilling operation deep underground, a crystal is uncovered that poses a threat to the city.
