In the fall, the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig starts its 245th season. Before that, however, the musicians can still be heard in other countries.

Before the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra starts its new season in the fall, the musicians are going on a European tour. From August 24 to September 3, performances are planned in Grafenegg, London, San Sebastián, Santander and Paris, the Gewandhaus announced. Under the direction of Andris Nelsons, the Leipzig orchestra will perform works by Arvo Pärt, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Johannes Brahms, among others.

On September 5, the 245th Gewandhaus season will open with a Grand Concert. The violinist Hilary Hahn will be the soloist at the opening concert, as she was previously on the guest tour.
