The Leipzig Book Fair Prize is endowed with 60,000 euros. Who will be nominated for 2026? Publishers can now nominate works.

Publishers can now nominate works for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize 2026. The deadline for submissions is September 26, the fair announced. We are looking for current books in the categories of fiction, non-fiction/essay writing and translation. The prize is endowed with 60,000 euros. Last year, 506 proposals were received.

A jury chaired by literary critic Katrin Schumacher will select five nominees per category. According to the fair, there have been two changes to the panel. New members are the critics Katharina Herrmann and Tilman Spreckelsen. They succeed Cornelia Geißler and David Hugendick, who have stepped down from the jury.

The nominees for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize are to be announced on February 25, 2026. The award is traditionally presented on the first day of the fair; next year this will be March 19.
