The Leipzig Book Fair 2026 has begun to great acclaim from the public. Thousands of visitors flocked to the exhibition grounds for the opening. Queues formed at the entrance. The fair has already stopped selling day tickets for Saturday. For what is traditionally the busiest day of the fair, tickets are only available for a shortened visit from the afternoon.
By Sunday, 2,044 exhibitors from 54 countries will be presenting their new book-related products. Authors from Germany and abroad can be experienced live at the trade fair and the accompanying reading festival "Leipzig reads". The Manga Comic Con also attracts numerous cosplayers.
