Hollywood stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jesse Eisenberg will be honored at this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The US-Americans will each receive the Festival President's Award at the beginning of July, as the organizers announced. The festival president's prize is awarded outside of the competition to "personalities who have made a significant contribution to the development of filmmaking".
The 60th edition of the film festival will take place from July 3 to 11 in the Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary. Founded in 1946, the film festival, which initially alternated with its Moscow counterpart, is one of the oldest in the world. Every summer, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors from Germany and abroad to Karlovy Vary, which is located around 100 kilometers east of Bayreuth and 70 kilometers south of Chemnitz.
