The "Schlingel" festival is all about films for young audiences. Which films were particularly well received this time?

The Irish production "The Magic of the Blue Violin" has won the European Children's Film Award at the international children's film festival "Schlingel" in Chemnitz. According to the festival organizers, the film shows how important families and friends are - even when hope has almost been lost. The film was selected by a children's jury with 60 members from six countries.

A total of 20 prizes were awarded at the festival. "Life is Now - The Real Life Guys" was named best national feature film. The film is based on a true family story and is set in the YouTube cosmos. The Estonian production "Fränk" was named best international feature film - a film about a boy in a difficult environment.

A total of 141 productions were screened in the various competitions of the "Schlingel" festival: 61 feature-length films and 80 short films. The festival celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
