In the new season, Leipziger Schauspiel wants to take a look at the community in society. The motto of the upcoming season is "We-Songs" and is a search for origins and references, for new questions and familiar narratives, for negotiations and conflicts, contradictions and longings, said the Schauspiel's artistic director, Enrico Lübbe, at the program presentation for the 2025/2026 season.
Due to renovations to its main stage, Schauspiel Leipzig will be performing on the agra site in the south of the city until the end of October. At the end of the interim period, Shakespeare's "The Tempest" can be experienced there in a special spatial way, it was further reported.
From the fall, eleven repertoire plays will return to the main stage - from A for "Arsenic and Lace" to W for "Woyzeck". In addition to "Andersen's Fairy Tales", "The Cold Heart" will also be revived for families. From next February, premieres can be experienced on the main stage that focus on connecting the past and present and questioning familiar answers anew.
