International theater performances and local wine: The annual Fall and Wine Festival kicks off on Friday in Radebeul (Meissen District) with the International Traveling Theater Festival. Under the theme “L’amore,” visitors can look forward to a diverse program in the historic Altkötzschenbroda district. At the Traveling Theater Festival, ensembles from various countries will present imaginative productions for young and old, according to a statement from the city. In addition to the theater performances, there will also be concerts and a carnival through Sunday. Pony rides are planned for children. The event is organized by the City of Radebeul. Radebeul winemakers invite visitors to taste their wines. During the opening parade on Friday afternoon, a "Kalebstraube" is traditionally carried at the front. This oversized bunch of grapes, tied together from many individual clusters, is carried on the shoulders. It can weigh up to 45 kilograms. Based on a biblical parable, it symbolizes fertility above all else. The cluster was assembled on Thursday at the Karl Friedrich Aust Winery, with the help of Wine Queen Luise Puhlmann and Wine Princesses Jessica Löffner and Joséphine Sander. The grapes were selected based on their color. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reservedKalebstraube tied
