Culture and Tourism Minister Barbara Klepsch (CDU) has praised the voluntary commitment to the still young Saxon Chamber Music Festival. "The festival now radiates far beyond the region and has thus also become an important tourism factor for Upper Lusatia," she said before the opening concert with the Dresden Kreuzchor in the church of Baruth (Bautzen district), according to a statement. For the privately initiated event, which only premiered in 2020, meanwhile more than 100 people volunteered, it is "something very special."

With 1500 guests, the third edition is at full capacity, for three of the total of ten concerts until September 15 in castles and churches in the region should therefore be offered more tickets than planned. In all, more than 100 musicians from twelve countries will make guest appearances, including renowned soloists such as mandolinist Avi Avital, violist Nils Mönkemeyer, cellist Jan Vogler and clarinetist Dimitri Ashkenazy.
