Speeding violations are not uncommon on Saxony's freeways: at 24,793, the number of fines issued to speeders in the first half of 2025 was roughly on a par with the previous year (25,299). This was announced by the Saxony State Directorate, to which the central fines office belongs, in response to a dpa inquiry.
The highest speeding violation was reportedly measured on the A9. The vehicle was traveling at 207 kilometers per hour - after deducting the tolerance - in the direction of Munich; the speed limit was 80 kilometers per hour. The driver was therefore 127 kilometers per hour too fast.
