Winning millions in the lottery and never having to worry about money again - that's what many people dream of. How many lucky people have achieved this in Saxony this year?

In 2025, fewer lucky people in Saxony have won millions in the lottery than in the previous year. According to the Saxon lottery company, five players have won a seven-figure sum so far. In 2024, twelve lottery millionaires were counted in the Free State. There are still a few draws to go before New Year's Eve.

Of the five big winners this year, two came from the state capital Dresden, two from Leipzig and one from North Saxony. One of the lucky Dresden residents won a good €3.2 million in May by matching six numbers in the classic "6 out of 49" lottery. In mid-March, a woman from Dresden hit the jackpot in the supplementary lottery "Spiel 77" and was able to enjoy almost 1.6 million euros.

Highest win of the year in Leipzig

The highest win of the year so far went to Leipzig in February. A lottery player hit the jackpot and won €9.5 million. A player from North Saxony was also successful in the same draw. He won €2.2 million with his six correct numbers in the second-highest prize tier.

A Leipzig resident won his last million euro prize at the end of October. The player also had six correct numbers on his ticket for "6 out of 49". These were also worth around 2.2 million euros.

Some more chances to win

Players in Saxony still have a few more chances to win before the end of the year. There are still three Lotto draws between Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. In addition, the Eurojackpot will be played twice more before the end of the year.
