The Muldental clinics are in financial difficulties - the Sana Group is to take over the hospitals in Wurzen and Grimma. The employees have given the green light - by accepting cutbacks.

The way has been paved for the sale of the hospitals in Wurzen and Grimma: employees of the Muldental clinics have agreed to the new employment contracts despite salary losses. This was announced by the Leipzig District Office on Monday evening. The approval is a prerequisite for the sale of the financially troubled clinics to Sana-Kliniken AG.

Eight percent less pay

The takeover is intended to preserve the locations and jobs, according to the district's announcement. For the employees, this means eight percentage points less gross pay.

County plans financial injection

The county is providing one million euros "to cushion the financial impact for the employees", it said. In addition, as things stand at present, the district will provide around 5.08 million euros so that Sana-Kliniken AG can take over the hospitals free of debt and insolvency-related burdens. The district council has approved the project. The money is earmarked for loans, as well as legal and court costs.

The sale is not completely in the bag: among other things, the cartel office still has to give its approval, according to the district.
