Visitors to Miniwelt Lichtenstein can marvel at the most famous sights in Saxony, Germany and the world in miniature - for 25 years!

From the Eiffel Tower to the Taj Mahal and the Statue of Liberty: visitors to Lichtenstein (Zwickau district) can marvel at the most famous sights in Saxony, Germany and the world in miniature. And they have been doing so for 25 years. The Miniwelt starts its anniversary season on Thursday. The 25th anniversary itself will be celebrated in mid-July with a week of festivities. Then, with the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis, the seven wonders of the ancient world will be completed, it was announced on Monday. The model builders were already working on this monumental structure.

The 4.5-hectare leisure park was opened in 1999 - initially with around 60 true-to-original models of famous buildings on a scale of 1:25. Since then, the number has steadily increased to more than 100, as spokeswoman Claudia Schmidt said. In recent years, more than 2 million visitors have embarked on a little trip around the world here.

The season lasts until the beginning of November. Surprises are planned for the anniversary on the 25th of each month. For example, on April 25, all residents of Lichtenstein who have 25 as the house number of their address have free admission; on April 25, all 25-year-olds can visit the park for free.
