Due to the wage dispute, Postbank customers are once again facing restrictions. Verdi is increasing the pressure ahead of the next round of negotiations - including a rally in Leipzig.

Customers of Postbank in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia must once again prepare for restrictions. The trade union Verdi is calling on employees to go on warning strikes from Thursday to Saturday. Postbank branches and call centers throughout Germany will be affected.

Verdi considers offer insufficient

The reason for this is the deadlocked wage dispute for around 9,000 Postbank employees in the Deutsche Bank Group. According to Verdi, the employer side recently offered a salary increase of 2.4 percent after three zero months from July 2026 and a further 2.3 percent one year later.

Verdi considers the offer to be insufficient. "Deutsche Bank has announced a record result. The employees have contributed significantly to this excellent annual result," emphasized Katrin Behrens, union secretary for financial services. Many employees would not understand why, according to the union, they should have to accept a loss in real wages while shareholders in particular benefited from the profits.

Rally planned in Leipzig

On Thursday, Verdi also announced a rally for employees from Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz in Leipzig. The union is demanding eight percent more money, but at least 300 euros per month. The next round of negotiations is scheduled for June 15 in Frankfurt am Main.
