The number of forced evictions in Saxony fell last year. According to a small inquiry by the left-wing parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament, a total of 2,115 apartments were evicted in 2025. The previous year had seen a peak of 2,704 cases. This means that a total of 2,628 eviction orders were issued in 2025.
Housing policy spokesperson for the left-wing parliamentary group, Juliane Nagel, nevertheless warned against prematurely sounding the all-clear. "The decline is pleasing, but we cannot yet assume a trend reversal."
