Signal boxes on a railroad line to and from Leipzig have been tampered with. The police are looking for the perpetrators. As a result, there were restrictions and disruptions to rail services in both directions between Leipzig and Döbeln on Thursday. No one was injured, according to the State Office of Criminal Investigation. The unknown perpetrators had gained access to signal masts at the Beucha and Naunhof stations in the district of Leipzig.
How the perpetrators gained access to the masts is still unclear. The police are also appealing for information from the public. According to the officers, they assume that the signals were tampered with on Thursday night. The extent of the resulting damage is also unclear at present. The State Office of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation into dangerous interference with rail traffic.
