A woman was injured in a collision between a car and an ambulance in the Vogtland district. According to police, a 69-year-old driver ran a red light and collided with the oncoming ambulance.

The man was driving on a federal highway from Auerbach toward Falkenstein on Saturday afternoon. At an intersection, he collided with the ambulance, which had the right of way. Fortunately, the ambulance was not carrying any patients at the time.

The passenger in the 69-year-old’s car was injured in the accident and taken to a hospital. The driver of the car, as well as the driver and passenger of the ambulance, were uninjured.

Both vehicles were no longer drivable after the accident and had to be towed away. The property damage is estimated at around 15,000 euros. The road was closed while the accident was being investigated.
