A streetcar and a bus collide in Dresden. Many people are slightly injured.

Numerous people have been injured in a collision between a streetcar and a public bus in Dresden. According to the police, most of the casualties were minor injuries. An exact number could not be confirmed at first. Several media outlets had previously reported.

The accident occurred at around 8.30 a.m. at the intersection of Cossebauder Straße and Warthaer Straße in the district of Cotta. The streetcar on line 12 was turning there when it collided with the bus.

The collision caused the streetcar to derail. Firefighters were busy lifting the streetcar back onto the tracks in the morning. Due to the large number of injured people, a so-called mass casualty incident (MANV) was triggered in order to coordinate medical care.
