Two people were seriously injured in an accident on Highway 17 near Dresden. According to the Dresden police, an 85-year-old man lost control of his sports car while passing another vehicle on Sunday evening while traveling toward Dresden.
The passing maneuver failed in an area where the highway narrowed from three lanes to two. The vehicle collided with the guardrail, was then thrown across the oncoming lane, and came to rest behind the guardrail on that side.
The 67-year-old passenger was also seriously injured in the accident. Both victims had to be taken to a hospital. The police estimate the property damage at around 100,000 euros.
