Cause of Fatal Helicopter Crash Still Unclear

Following the fatal helicopter crash in the Ore Mountains, the investigation into the cause is ongoing. A police spokesperson said results are not expected for several days. The police have not yet received the investigation report.

Pilot Dies at the Scene of the Accident

The helicopter crashed on Friday over a forested area near Neudorf, a district of Sehmatal. The pilot was on a mission there to apply lime to the forest floor. Workers pulled the man from the wreckage after the impact. Despite immediate rescue efforts, he died at the scene of the accident.

The helicopter caught fire after the crash. More than 85 firefighters were dispatched. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent the flames from spreading to the surrounding forest.
