An accident on the A14 near Leisnig has left several people injured. A civilian police vehicle—with two police dogs on board—was also involved.

Three people and two police dogs were injured in an accident involving an unmarked police vehicle on Highway 14 near Leisnig. A 53-year-old police dog handler suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to a police statement.

On Friday afternoon, the officer was driving a small van belonging to the police dog unit toward Dresden. Before the Leisnig interchange, the vehicle veered off the road to the right for reasons that remain unclear and collided with the trailer of a truck on the shoulder. The truck had stopped there due to a flat tire.
