A driver in Central Saxony is caught driving under the influence. And not just once.

A driver in Central Saxony was caught driving under the influence twice in one evening. On Saturday near Halsbrücke, the 50-year-old’s car initially caught the attention of a witness due to his driving behavior; the witness followed him and called the police. A breathalyzer test showed the driver had a blood alcohol level of 1.56 per mille, police reported. The man’s driver’s license was confiscated.

Just a few hours later, witnesses reported the car to the police again. It was parked with the engine running at a junction off Federal Highway 173 near Oberschöna. The 50-year-old was sitting in the driver’s seat. According to the police, a new breathalyzer test now showed a blood alcohol level of 2 per mille. The man faced two charges of driving under the influence and one charge of driving without a license.
