A 20-year-old motorcyclist turned himself in to the police in Zwickau after a dangerous hit-and-run. According to the Zwickau Police Department, officers had attempted to stop him during the night. He ignored the signals to stop and instead sped away, according to the police report.
On Highway 72 toward Plauen, he then used his motorcycle to pass several vehicles on the shoulder. He then reportedly drove back toward Zwickau via a federal highway and a state highway, running several red lights along the way.
The police eventually lost sight of the motorcyclist but were able to record his license plate number. On Sunday, he turned himself in at the police station in Zwickau. His driver’s license was confiscated by order of the public prosecutor’s office. The man now faces charges of reckless driving and illegal street racing.
