For the new winter semester, Chemnitz University of Technology is seeing a significant increase in the number of first-year students. So far, approximately 2,300 students have enrolled. That is 19 percent more than at the same time last year, the university announced. And the number could still rise, as prospective students can still apply for a degree program until the end of the month. According to the university, Chemnitz University of Technology is offering 115 degree programs for the 2026/2027 winter semester. The most popular programs so far are psychology, web engineering, embedded systems, foundations in data science, and elementary school teacher education, each with well over 100 enrollments for the first semester.
