An 18-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident on Federal Highway 107 in Wechselburg (Mittelsachsen district). The young man was flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter, according to police.
On Friday afternoon, the 18-year-old was riding his motorcycle from Seebitzschen toward Göpersdorf. In a right-hand curve, he veered off the road to the left for reasons that are still unclear, ended up in a grain field, and crashed.
The motorcycle sustained property damage amounting to approximately 4,000 euros. The federal highway had to be completely closed at times during the rescue and recovery operations.
