The Free State of Saxony and the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu want to work together more closely in the future in terms of business and the recruitment of skilled workers. A memorandum of understanding was signed in Dresden, as announced by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. It provides for various projects and collaborations.
India is becoming increasingly important for the Saxon economy in view of geopolitical uncertainties and trade conflicts, the ministry explained. In the past two years, Saxon companies have exported goods worth around 300 million euros to India.
The new agreement is intended to expand the relationship with Tamil Nadu. In addition to opening up new sales markets, Saxony is also primarily interested in attracting well-trained specialists.
