Saxony wants to promote itself as a high-tech location at the International Aerospace Exhibition in Berlin. 18 companies and institutes presented innovative products and projects from Wednesday, as announced by the Saxony Economic Development Corporation (WFS).
"The importance of aerospace in Saxony is growing - also due to the increasing links with the defense industry," said WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn. The exhibitors are positioning themselves in a highly innovative environment and have excellent opportunities to gain new customers and business partners.
The competition at the trade fair is anything but manageable: a total of more than 750 exhibitors from 37 countries will be showcasing their new developments in aerospace technology at the ExpoCenter Airport in Schönefeld. The trade fair will be open to trade visitors from June 10 to June 12 and private visitors from June 13 to June 14.
Around 160 companies and research institutes in the aerospace industry are reported to employ around 7,000 people in Saxony. The annual turnover is estimated at around 1.4 billion euros.
