Large machines are used in automotive workshops. This can be dangerous under certain circumstances. Experts have inspected numerous companies in Saxony - and found defects.

During inspections of car dealerships in Saxony last year, the state directorate found numerous defects. In total, the experts found 1,773 defects at 191 car dealerships, workshops or paint shops visited, according to the state directorate. These included 95 serious defects, for example in pressure vessels or in potentially explosive areas such as paint shops.

According to the state directorate, the remaining defects were of a technical nature, related to missing inspections of work equipment or inadequate occupational health and safety. According to the information provided, there is a high risk potential in automotive businesses, for example due to explosions or electric shocks in paint booths or lifting platforms. The inspections are intended to help identify hazards at an early stage and prevent accidents at work.
