Burning Truck on the A4

A truck caught fire on the A4 heading toward Dresden, just past the Ohorn interchange. According to police, the flames broke out in the tractor unit on Monday evening before spreading to the front of the trailer. The 31-year-old driver pulled the truck over onto the shoulder and got to safety. Police believe the fire was caused by a mechanical failure. The A4 remained completely closed in the direction of Dresden for several hours but was reopened shortly before midnight. Police estimate the property damage at around 100,000 euros.
