A power outage in the Leipzig city center led to restrictions on Thursday afternoon. According to a public utilities spokesperson, up to 10,000 people were affected. Traffic lights also failed in the eastern part of the city, but streetcar services continued to run.
The cause was the failure of a substation. "This was 99 percent due to a technical fault. Sabotage can be ruled out," said a spokesperson. Technicians are working to restore the supply quickly,
