After a bomb threat, the main train station in Zwickau is closed. The station was evacuated in the early evening and is being searched with sniffer dogs, the federal police said on request. Nothing has been found so far, they said. This had previously been reported by the "Freie Presse".
The closure caused considerable disruption to regional rail services. Rail replacement services were set up on the route to Leipzig between Zwickau and Werdau, according to a Deutsche Bahn spokesperson.
The connection from Dresden to Plauen and Hof was also affected. "There will be partial cancellations and delays", according to the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn website. Trains of the RE 3 would be rerouted, the RB 30 to Dresden starts and ends in Glauchau.
