Bundesliga club RB Leipzig will travel to regional league side Eintracht Trier in the first main round of the DFB Cup. This was the result of the draw at the German Football Museum by former referee Deniz Aytekin. Apart from the matches between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund, the first round will be played on the weekend of August 21-24.
"The draw for the first round of the cup is already increasing the anticipation for the new season," said RB managing director Marcel Schäfer, "we are looking forward to an atmospheric match on the Moselle. We are very happy to accept the role of favorites and would like to lay the foundation for the most successful cup season possible in the first round."
