Dresdner SC's volleyball players are pressing ahead with their squad planning and are strengthening their ranks with US player Maia Dvoracek. As the German runners-up announced, the 27-year-old is moving from Swiss series champions Viteos NUC from Neuchatel to the Elbe and signing a one-year contract.
Last season, the diagonal attacker was named the most valuable player (MVP) in the Swiss league and also won the Supercup, cup and championship treble with her club for the second time in a row. In Dresden, she will team up with national player Lena Kindermann in the diagonal attack to provide penetration and compensate for the departure of top scorer Marta Levinska.
DSC Head Coach Alexander Waibl explains: "Maia is a left-hander with many different attacking solutions. She has already gained some experience abroad, played outstanding seasons in Switzerland and I am very sure that she will become an important player for us." Dvoracek is the fifth new signing for the six-time German champions following the return of Sarah Straube, Kindermann, Mackenzie Foley and Morgan Geddes (both USA).
