The Dresden volleyball team is pressing ahead with its squad planning for the new season. After Sarah Straube, the next player from Italy is moving to the Elbe.

The Dresdner SC women's volleyball team have made another announcement in their squad planning. As the German runners-up announced in a video call, diagonal attacker Lena Kindermann is moving from Italian first division club Wash4Green Monviso to the Elbe and signing a one-year contract.

This means the Dresden club is luring the second German international back to the Bundesliga. The day before, the six-time German champions had already announced the return of set-piece player Sarah Straube from Italy to her home club.

Kindermann received training in Schwerin

Lena Kindermann, who hails from Greifswald, received her training at the base in Schwerin and went to the USA to play for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks for a good four years in 2018. The 26-year-old then went on to play for VfB Suhl, Venelles and Paris Saint-Cloud in France, before moving to Monviso in Italy's top league in the middle of last season.

In May 2024, Kindermann made her debut for the German national team under the then interim national team coach and long-time DSC head coach Alexander Waibl. "I'm extremely happy that we've managed to bring Lena to Dresden. I've already had the opportunity to work with her and found my time with her in the national team to be very positive. A left-hander in the diagonal position is always something special and Lena is also extremely powerful. We will have a lot of fun with her," said Waibl. With Kindermann, the Elbe city team wants to compensate for the departure of top scorer Marta Levinska.
