On June 18, 1. FC Magdeburg will end its summer break and begin preparations for the new season in the second soccer league. After the obligatory examinations, two test matches against partner clubs from the lower leagues are also scheduled, as the club announced.
Like last summer, Magdeburg will hold its training camp in Bad Wörishofen. Training will take place in the Unterallgäu region from 2 to 10 July, with two matches against Swiss first division clubs FC Luzern and FC Winterthur on the agenda at the Grümpel Tournament in Elgg, Switzerland.
On 19 July, the team, where it is still unclear whether Christian Titz will remain as coach, will face regional league side Chemnitzer FC (16:00). The season opener follows a week later at home against Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg (3.30pm). The new season kicks off on August 1 and the fixtures will be published on June 27.
