The Niners Chemnitz basketball team clearly missed out on its fourth win in a row in the German league. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost 69:81 (34:39) at Fitness First Würzburg Baskets. Kevin Yebo scored 15 points in front of 3,140 spectators to become Chemnitz' best scorer and drop to twelfth place with 20:24 points.
The Niners got off to the better start with a 6:2 lead, but then went more than five minutes without scoring another bucket from the floor. They sought their luck almost exclusively from the three-point line. When the visitors attacked the basket more consistently in the second quarter, they briefly took the lead. However, Würzburg ended the first half with a 7:0 run to make it 39:34, also thanks to careless turnovers by Chemnitz.
The Niners also failed to develop a consistent rhythm in offense after the break. Moreover, they had great problems stopping Würzburg's outstanding build-up players Davion Mintz and Marcus Carr. As a result, the home side pulled 71:55 ahead by the 33rd minute.
