RB Leipzig face a heated East German clash in the second round of the DFB Cup. The Bundesliga club must face third-division side Energie Cottbus. The last time Leipzig won the prestigious competition was in 2023.
"An away game in Cottbus is a real challenge. Energie have a good team and, with the fans behind them, will do everything they can to make life difficult for us. That's what makes the cup so exciting. We are aware of the task and will be highly focused in order to prevail in this atmosphere and reach the next round," said sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
