FC Augsburg have signed German junior international Faik Sakar from Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig. The 18-year-old attacking player's contract with the Saxons expires in the summer. The free agent signed a contract with Augsburg until June 30, 2030.
"Faik Sakar fits in very well with our sporting and strategic direction because he is a young player with great potential. He chose FCA with conviction because we showed him a clear plan for his development into a Bundesliga player," said Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber.
In addition to one game in the Bundesliga, Sakar mainly played in the U17, U19 and UEFA Youth League in Leipzig, as Augsburg wrote. "I'm sure that the move to FCA is exactly the right step for my development," said Sakar.
