The setback at fellow rivals in Düsseldorf leaves Dynamo Dresden with many questions. Because instead of pulling away, the Saxons slipped further into the basement of the 2nd Bundesliga after the 3-1 defeat. "What's the best way to sum it up?" asked defender Thomas Keller. It's the chain of mistakes in defense. And up front, "we lacked a bit of punch in front of goal".
For striker Vincent Vermeij, Dynamo were "clearly the better team". But Fortuna "virtually took half chances". Cedric Itten (11th minute), Emmanuel Iyoha (17th) and Luca Raimund (58th) scored the goals for the Rhinelanders. It was the first win for Düsseldorf after five defeats in a row. Dresden had recently won twice in a row and could have taken a big step forward with a hat-trick of wins. However, a late goal from Jakob Lemmer (90') was not enough. Now it's back to trembling.
Both Fortuna and Eintracht Braunschweig (2:0 in Kaiserslautern) came back to within one point of Dynamo. Two more clashes against direct relegation rivals follow in the final three matchdays of the regular season against Braunschweig and Holstein Kiel.
