FC Erzgebirge Aue have once again postponed their relegation from the 3rd division. The Saxons drew 2:2 (0:2) at VfB Stuttgart II. With four matches remaining, Aue are twelve points behind the first non-relegation place. Nicolas Jessa (38') and Jeremy Arevalo (40') struck twice before the break to put VfB ahead. However, Julian Guttau (54') and Marcel Bär (87'/manual penalty) ensured a draw.
It was noticeable, especially in the first half, that Auern had probably already resigned themselves to relegation. Although they played forward, there was no togetherness. As a result, several promising attacks fizzled out rather miserably. At the other end, the VfB talents drew attention to themselves with beautiful combinations and consequently scored their goals.
After the break, there was more life in Auer's play and the goals were the reward for the jolt that had gone through the team. With a bit of luck, the Violets could even have won, but Bär missed a huge chance in the final minute.
