Vocational schools in Saxony are benefiting significantly from European Union funding for investments. Additional projects have been approved using EU funds from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) and co-financing from the Free State of Saxony, the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs announced. “We are investing in modern learning spaces and strengthening the future viability of our vocational schools in Saxony. In doing so, we are laying the foundation for the skilled workers of tomorrow,” explained Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs Conrad Clemens (CDU).
Vocational school in Bautzen gets a solar panel system on its roof
The BSZ for Nutrition and Home Economics in Bautzen can draw on just under 300,000 euros for the purchase of new equipment and construction work. Just under 125,000 euros are available for the Bautzen Vocational School Center (BSZ) for Business and Technology to renovate the roof and install a photovoltaic system.
During the funding period from 2021 to 2027, the JTF will support regions that face particular challenges due to the transition to a climate-neutral economy. In addition to the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz in the Lusatian region, as well as the districts of Leipziger Land, Northern Saxony, and the city of Leipzig in the Central German region, the city of Chemnitz is also part of the funding area.
