After a controversial theater project at a secondary school in Schleife (district of Görlitz) was stopped, the police are investigating on suspicion of distributing pornographic content to minors. As the Görlitz police department confirmed to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur, several parents of affected pupils in a ninth grade class have filed a criminal complaint after pornographic material that they considered inappropriate was presented in the classroom during a project week. The Weißwasser criminal investigation department is investigating two female suspects of adult age. The detectives are working closely with the school. On Monday, the Saxon Ministry of Education had already announced that it was investigating the incident, which is said to have taken place in March. According to the statement, the State Office for Schools and Education is currently in contact with the school management in order to clarify the matter. A spokesperson for the school supervisory authority said in response to a dpa inquiry that pornographic material was allegedly presented to pupils in a ninth grade class at the school. "Two people from an external theater project" had allegedly used the images. These and other allegations are now being investigated together with the school management, as well as whether those responsible have violated the regulations of the Saxon school law with their actions. The school management did not wish to comment when asked by dpa. The AfD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament is demanding information from Minister of Education Conrad Clemens on the incident, in which, according to media reports, leaflets critical of the AfD were also distributed, by the next meeting of the Committee for Schools and Education on April 22. "What consequences will be drawn from the incident? At how many other schools have such projects taken place in recent years?" asked Tobias Heller, who represents the parliamentary group on the Education Committee. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de).
