From singing to technology: at "chor.com" in Leipzig, choirs, publishers and music schools show how they connect people. Former Federal President Wulff reveals what inspires him about it.

For four days this fall, Leipzig will be the meeting place for the German choral scene: the nationwide choral festival "chor.com" will take place there for the first time. From October 1 to 4, more than 150 workshops, three top-class master classes and 20 concerts are planned, as announced by the German Choral Association.

In addition, around 60 sheet music and music publishers, CD labels, technology providers, universities and music schools, academies, festival and concert organizers and professional associations will be presenting their new projects and programmes at an exhibitor fair in the Congress Hall at Leipzig Zoo.

Federal President Wulff: Singing together unites

The motto of the festival is "Building Bridges - how choral music creates new connections". "A particular strength of choirs is building bridges, both within a choir and to other choirs, while rifts in society tend to deepen", said former Federal President and President of the German Choir Association Christian Wulff. Singing together makes it possible to connect different cultures, social backgrounds and perspectives.

The German Choir Association has been organizing the festival every two years since 2011. It was first held in Dortmund, from 2019 in Hanover and now for the first time in Leipzig.
